Welcome to a new experience.

You’ve got a problem. Or think you do. Perhaps somebody else told you that you do. In any case, you wanna figure this out, get to the bottom of it.

You’ve gotta unload this somewhere. Only any place you call, they’ve got a waiting list. Or the intake takes forever. Or there’s a huge cost. Or you get locked into a system, just for going in.

You’re frustrated. Why can’t you just stop any more when you want to.
It used to be so easy. You used to be a weekend warrior. You managed to get that great job and kept it forever. Until you stopped going in.
Or whatever the circumstances you find yourself in…

How are you going to get some help, figure it out, put this thing to rest, or freakin’ just stop… stop for good!

So, why don’t you give me a call or set up a time to come in. We can talk things over, reason things out. Chances are, something is going on, something is off, you sense being out of balance.

How can we help?
Journey Recovery Coaching offers a safe place to start. (Or finish. Or do the work in between.) The environment feels like home. It is comfortable and calming. You can relax and start to settle in, feel yourself, begin to trust, start a process of discovery.

This is Recovery Coaching; it is a different approach to assisting people on their journey through recovery from addictive processes. Technically, we are not part of the system of state-sponsored treatment centers, we are not part of the hospital deliveries of substance abuse services. We are not part of the self-help movement per se. We respect these different systems of providing services for people with addiction issues, and we work with them and refer to them, as appropriately.

Recovery Coaching is a professional service, and we occupy a unique role. At Journey2Change, we strive to offer a real provision of care and attentiveness to people struggling with addictions of different kinds. We maintain independence from traditional settings so that we might best counsel individuals on how to receive the best care. Our philosophy is holistic in nature—to look at the Whole Person. We honor and respect multiple paths of recovery. Our role is to listen to the needs and motivation of our clients and to guide clients as they discover and pursue their own Journey of Recovery.

  • Recovery Coaching can be about helping people recognize, and recover from, addiction.

  • Recovery Coaching may involve providing information and resources to help people learn about substance use  issues, as well as guide them toward appropriate systems of care.

  • Not all individuals benefit equally from treatment settings or self-help groups. Recovery Coaching is there for people to explore their unique needs and to receive appropriate care.

  • When people need help the most, the Recovery Coach can be there as a safe and constant source of contact and connection to recovery resources.

  • Working with people as they find their own empowerment is the great achievement of a Recovery Coach.

  • Navigating times of transition (such as in and out of rehab or between the hospital and outpatient services) can be quite challenging for folks in early recovery. The Recovery Coach can provide that extra support and care for clients and families during each phase along the way.

  • Your Recovery Coach is someone you learn to trust with intimate truths, who will be there when things get rough, and who can reflect that truth back to you in times when it is most needed.

Lucia Davis, MMA, CASAC, is a recovery coach and credentialed addiction specialist. She employs both conventional methods and alternative modalities for assisting people through a journey of change. Clients learn to become present with themselves and to identify their problems, needs, strengths and goals. Lucia utilizes a Seven Points of Healing (TM) method to guide clients in building their own model of recovery. In this practice, Lucia may utilize mindfulness practices, sound therapy techniques, teachings from the Yoga of Recovery (TM), accessible meditation exercises, stress reduction and grounding anchors, cognitive-behavioral re-structuring, and interactive group and individual sessions. Most importantly, Lucia maintains a presence in clients' lives while they work through each obstacle and overcome difficulties, creating a life of purpose, fulfillment, and enjoyment.
